Are we there yet, Mr. Modi & Mr. Prabhu?

Date of Journey : 28th Feb, 2016 , Atarra to Jhansi, UP Sampark Kranti Express

Unusually, the train arrived at Atarra station just on time. I had to struggle to get into a sleeper coach. Sleeper coaches should only be occupied by passengers who have reserved the seats with confirmed tickets. Passengers with waiting list (WL) tickets are not permitted to board the train.
Everything was just USUAL. The coach was filled with people who either had general coach tickets and people who have waiting list tickets. 12-16 people were occupying the 8 seater compartments. There were 3 times more people in the coach than expected.
Everybody was sitting silently , adjusting (‘Jugaad kar ke seat ka intezaam ho gaya tha’). I saw all this and could not sit silently. I sent many tweets to Mr.Prabhu,RailMinCare, DRMDelhi and informed them about the situation.

The only reply I got from everywhere was to call 182.

The train had left Banda station.I asked my brother to file a complaint on 182. He did and thats when the UNUSUAL things started.

The RPF showed up at the Mahoba station. One policeman came to my seat and asked, who filed the complaint? I raised my hand and then the conversations started.
He asked me what was the problem. I told him 16 people are occupying the compartment of 8 people. He made a mockery out of it as if trying to announce to the whole compartment. He asked me to come out of the train.
There were 5-6 policemen on the mahoba station waiting to address the issue. I met them. One of the heavy bulky guy , who seemed to be the leader started asking me questions and this conversation made me think, are we there yet?

The Leader : Kya problem hai?
I: 8 log ke compartment me 16 log baithe hai. Poore coach me bina reservation ticket ke log baithe hain.
The Leader : Aap karte kya ho? Problem kya hai? Aapko aapki seat mili ke nahi?
I: Me software engineer hun. Mere ko seat mili but meri birth(supposed to be occupied by 3 people) pe 5 log baithe hai.
The Leader: *laughs loudly* ye problem hamari nahi hai. TTE se baat kariye. He asked for the TTE.

*One guy went to check for the TTE and came back with the response ‘The train is unmanned’*

I: Dekhiye, ab ye kiski problem hai? TTE he nahi he train me 4 ghante se?
The Leader: Ye railways ke problem hai. Railways itne TTE he hire nahi karti he ke har train me TTE lagaya jaye.
I: *shocked*
The Leader: Ye saare hindustan ke problem hai. Koi 5 bacche paida karta he koi 10. Railways ko waiting ticket he nahi bechna chahiye.
I: Waiting ticket pe travel karna allowed nahi he. Ye kaun check karega?
The Leader: Jab draupadi ( reference – train) ka cheer haran hua tha,toh sab ( He and his company) khade dekh rahe the. Me 20 saal se dekh raha hun, India pehle bhi aise he tha , aaj bhi aise he hai and aise he rahega. Ye Modi aur Prabhu kuch nahi kar sakte. Koi kuch nahi kar sakta is desh ka.
I: Aap aaye, acha laga. Dheeme dheeme he ye desh badlega. Dhanyawaad.
*And I left, furious*

We have heard a lot of good stories about Mr. Prabhu’s customer sensitization campaigns but this is really a shocking one. The question is , how will we change the system when we have such blood sucking, unmotivated officials in our system? There has certainly been great improvement in the Indian Railways, thanks to Mr.Prabhu and Mr.Modi , but are we there yet?

Dream Odyssey – The Girl

P.S. : This post is purely a work of fiction.

I was a little drunk. She was a little drunk too. We both were a little unconscious. She is a girl I used to like, I do not know if she liked me back or not. But then, I walked away from her life.

Out of nowhere, I found myself sitting with her on a railway station with a  lot of luggage. She asked me “Why did you leave?”. I was silent. I did not have an answer. At that moment, she kissed me, I kissed her back. And then we saw something weird,  half of the luggage we were traveling with was gone, it had just disappeared. I asked her “Where is half our luggage?” . She seemed least interested and somehow I stopped thinking about it too.

Merging - Discover365 Project - Day 20

Then suddenly I found myself sitting with her in a small bench-cum-hut far down the typical Indian railway station out of the shade. She again asked me the same question, “Why did you leave?”. I did not answer. She kissed me again. She started taking off her clothes and this time, we got a little intimate. And then again we noticed the same weird thing. Half of the luggage was gone again. I noticed and ignored. She noticed and ignored too.

And then our train started approaching the station. It came to a halt. We settled ourselves in our seats with whatever luggage we were left with. We slept. And when I woke up, I found myself sleeping in some another seat with her awake beside me  and another half of our luggage gone, yet again. We could not care less.

There was an attack. The train came to a halt. A large crowd of people barged into the train and started beating rest of the passengers but us. We were shocked and jumped out of the train with one small bag which was left with us. We were running fast through the platform to get away from that train.

We jumped into another train. We sat and the train left.  I saw her skin starting to turn black. I was worried. Her skin completely turned black. I was about to kiss her when I saw her teeth start to grow. They had started to come out of her mouth. She had turned into a monster. Suddenly, she was over me and trying to strangle me to death. I started reciting  the ‘hanuman chalisa’. And then after a few moments, SHE FLEW AWAY.

Who was she ? Who was stealing our luggage ? Why didn’t the crowd attack us?

Dream Odyssey

I could not breathe. I was being strangled , strangled to death. I could not open my eyes properly. Every time my eyes opened, I could see a shape , shape of a human body, just the outline , nothing else was visible.

And then that shape pulled me up , carried me for a few miles and then I heard a loud sound , “THUD”. I was on the ground.

And then my eyes opened. I was on my bed , wide awake , looking for that shape but there was nothing to be found except darkness. My eyes adjusted to the darkness. The pupils became as big as they could. I started seeing the shapes in my room , the table, the photoframe, the coffee mug and the chair. “Wait there is something on the chair, that same humanly shape” , I thought. It stood up and started coming towards me. I jumped out of the bed and ran towards the door and went out. I fell .

I had fallen and there was no one to catch me . Another intense sound.

And I woke up , I was on my bed. I could see the sun rays coming in from the windows. The darkness and the shape , were gone.

So where does the Racism start from?

So , have you ever wondered where are the roots of evolution of racism. Nope? Try thinking and you will be shocked.

Its Us !! Its the people around us. Our Family , Friends and Relatives. And last but not the least, its you and me.
I have seen many people talk about racism , they say that its a bad thing for human race, they say that it should be stopped but I have seen the same people contribute to racism , knowingly or unknowingly. Its just sad when people knowingly contribute to the growth of Racism.

Recently I came across many such incidents. There is a servant at my friend’s place who stays in his house , cooks food for them and does all the household work. But he has a separate bathroom. I accidentally happen to use the same bathroom and when I came out of it , my friend asked me “What were you doing in the servant’s bathroom ?” . I know its not a big thing , I know I should not be concerned what others do but I just feel sad about it. Why such behaviour? Why not treat everyone equally? I mean you can eat the food cooked by the same person but you can’t use the same bathroom. It must not be a big deal for some and some might even laugh about it but have you ever thought about the background of that guy , why he became a servant?

I had also been to a relative’s place and saw the same kind of scene there. When I asked them why it is like that? They did not have an answer.

This is the scene across whole of India. This has perfectly been portrayed in the movie ‘The Help’. It perfectly portray’s how the servant’s feel when they are discriminated. Just because they are servant’s does not mean they should not be treated equally. May be that servant’s parents were from a poor background and they did not have enough money to teach him properly, may be his circumstances made him poor , there are just too many reason’s for what he could have become and why he became what he is now.

When I tried discussing these things with some of my friends and relatives , some laughed about it, some did not care and some had other reasons. The thing is that, people today are just too shy or ashamed to talk about such serious and sensitive topics. It might be a small thing but these small things contribute to the growth of racism. Firstly, I blame the Indian government for contributing to the growth of Racism and Castiesm in India. Why have reserved quota? Why have majorities and minorities ? Why not treat everyone equally?

When you , me and the people around us stop taking these kinds of small things seriously, then only we all will be able to eradicate Racism and Castiesm from the World and make the world a better place for everyone to live .

The Unsolvable PUZZLE

What Life has to offer can never be predicted . Life is one hell of a big big game with no cheat codes available to crack it( for those who don’t know , cheat codes are crappy little things that are available in PC games which let you do whatever you want, which let you do the impossible. I believe it is for losers. Ok , so I should not divert from topic. Back to work). So what do you think about life? Easy going, tough, adventurous ? Though I am just too young to write something like this, I am just expressing what I have experienced till now.

No matter how much importance you give to someone, it does not matter unless they realise your importance. No matter what you do for someone, it does not matter unless they realise the importance of what you did. No matter how much you care about someone, it just does not matter unless they care about you too. No matter how much you help someone, it just does not matter unless they realise the importance of it.

What do you know about human nature? Or the question should be what do I know about human nature? Humans are not expected to give for a long time if they do not get something in return.Humans are hungry by nature(now please don’t start thinking about food here). Will you do your job if you do not get your salary at the last day of every month?( c’mon, everyone is not Mahatma Gandhi or Mother Teresa).

Human nature is itself a puzzle and is hard to understand . The solution to all the problems is to just do what you want to do. Don’t expect, don’t give a damn what others think, just DO IT because some things are just worth doing. Isn’t it? Do things that satisfy you, don’t do things that satisfy others. Do things that you feel are right, don’t do things that others think are right. Do things for your own pleasure, don’t do things just to show off( showing off sometimes is ok though). Don’t live your life for others or for the society , live for yourself because nobody is going to pay you back for what you do, not even god, if you think it exists.
